Privacy & care

Personal, with a little care.

This explains how Dearly handles creations, invitation replies and support requests. Your creation is private by link and is not listed in the public gallery or sitemap. Updated 4 October 2026.

Who can open a gift?

Anyone with the gift link can open it, save its photos and forward the link. Dearly is not an encrypted messaging service. Use it for ordinary greetings, not passwords, identity documents, medical records or other sensitive information.

Your management link is your key.

The separate management link allows its holder to edit or delete the creation and see invitation responses. Management keys are stored as hashes on the server. Keep your link for yourself. This browser remembers your creations on this device; save a separate copy before clearing browser data or moving devices. There is no account-based link recovery.

Storage and hosting.

The service stores the text, event details, uploaded photos and audio needed to deliver your creation. Content is hosted through Cloudflare Workers and D1. Media is served through the creation’s link, not a public media gallery. The site operator and hosting provider can access stored content to operate the service or handle abuse and support requests. The hosting provider may keep operational logs. Short-lived hashed network identifiers help limit spam.

Invitation replies.

The host and service operator can access RSVP names, attendance choices, guest counts and notes. Other guests cannot browse those responses. Your browser may remember your private response link; anyone holding that link can read and update your reply. Do not put sensitive personal details in an RSVP note.

Support requests and reports.

The contact form stores your category, message, submission time, optional name and email, and the gift identifier if you provide a public gift link. These submissions are available to the site operator through the hosting account, not through a public inbox. They are kept while needed to handle the request or investigate abuse; there is currently no automatic expiry. You can ask the operator to remove a submission using its reference. Providing an email is optional and enables a possible reply.

Deletion and copies.

Creations remain stored until deleted. Use the management page to delete a creation: its link stops working, and its stored media and invitation responses are deleted. You can remove an individual photo by editing. Deletion cannot remove copies saved by recipients or records retained separately by the hosting provider. If you cannot use the management page, contact the operator; a request does not establish ownership by itself.

Browser storage, advertising and outside services.

Dearly remembers your chosen language, management links and response links in this browser. Advertising and external analytics are not active in this version. Personal gift, management and RSVP pages are reserved for the experience and are not places for advertising.

If Google advertising is enabled on public editorial pages later, Google and advertising partners may use cookies and identifiers to deliver and measure ads, including personalised ads where permitted. This policy and the available consent choices must be updated before those requests begin. Sharing through WhatsApp or opening a map takes you to another service with its own privacy policy.

Questions about your information.

Use the contact form for privacy or deletion requests. Include a public gift link or a support reference when useful, but do not send a management key or identity document. Only upload photos and audio you own or have permission to share, and respect everyone featured in them.
